Schedule Creation

Schedule-Tools has two methods of schedule creation, a one click schedule, and step by step. In either case, you start by selecting the month you wish to schedule and adding any manually scheduled items you have (Schedule-Tools will support a mixture of auto and manual scheduled sites or physicians).

    1. Choose month to schedule
    2. Enter manual entries (if any)
    3. Click create schedule button
    4. Review and accept schedule
    5. Publish schedule

Assuming that you will not make any changes to the global settings (global settings are values such as the start history date, rule weights and rations, etc.) you will most likely use the one click schedule creation. If you will be making changes you will probably want to see the results of the changes.

The schedule engine provides a great deal of information on the decisions that it makes when creating a schedule. This detailed information allows you to see the ramifications of any changes you made and the impact of each of your rules.

After the schedule has been created you may accept it, or make any adjustments you wish. After you have accepted the schedule the month is locked and the schedule is published and you are finished. Depending on the number of anesthesiologists and locations your practice has and assuming no manual entries for manually scheduled locations or anesthesiologists, a one click schedule will take about 10-20 minutes to produce. Other than clicking the "create auto schedule" button you will not have anything to do during this process other than grabbing a cup of coffee or catching up on your email.
